Dr. Aminu Maida’s appointment to the position of Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has been approved by the Senate.
The head of the Committee on Communication, Sen. Bilbis Ikra (APC-Zamfara), earlier submitted a report, which the Committee of the Whole accepted on Thursday.
In submitting the report, Ikra reportedly requested that the Senate examine President Bola Tinubu’s request for Maida to be confirmed as the NCC Chairman, stating that this proposal was in accordance with Section 8 (1) of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Establishment Act, 2003.

In order to further ensure the NCC’s success, he said that Maida had undergone a thorough screening by the committee and that he possessed all required security clearances, professional experience, training, competence, and regulatory capacity.
He begged the Senate to approve the appointment because of this.
The Senate subsequently confirmed Aminu Maida’s appointment as executive vice chairman of the NCC.
