A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has ordered the remand of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele in the Kuje Correctional Facility awaiting the outcome of his bail application.
Following Emefiele’s arraignment and his plea of not guilty to a six-count amended charge submitted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Justice Hamza Muazu issued the decision on Friday.
Emefiele is accused of misuse of office, among other things, in the charge.
After hearing arguments on Emefiele’s bail application, Justice Muazu delayed the case until November 22 to rule on the bail application and November 28 to begin the trial.
