The Israeli military announced on Friday that it had launched an attack on a Syrian target in response to an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) attack.
This was in retaliation to an attack on a school building the day before in the southern Israeli city of Eilat.
“A short while ago, the IDF struck the organisation in Syria that carried out the launch of a UAV toward Eilat Thursday (yesterday).
“The UAV which hit a school in the city,’’ the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), said early on Friday.
“The IDF holds the Syrian regime fully responsible for every terror activity emanating from its territory.

“The IDF will respond severely to every aggression against Israeli territory,’’ the Israeli military added.
A drone of unknown origin destroyed a school in the seaside resort town of Eilat on Thursday.
The IDF confirmed Thursday afternoon that it was reviewing the incident’s circumstances.
There were no casualties reported.
