Tinubu expresses condolences to Canada following High Commission fire incident

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the Canadian government following a fire that claimed two lives and seriously injured two others at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.

According to reports, the fire began on Monday morning with a diesel explosion in the High Commission’s generator house and spread during generator repair work.

However, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu assured the High Commission of Nigeria’s support for its staff, who were affected by the incident

The statement said: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sympathizes with the Canadian government, the diplomatic community, and all persons affected by a fire incident which occurred on Monday at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.

“The President assures the Canadian authorities of the full support of the Nigerian government in the aid of diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission who were particularly affected by the incident

President Tinubu prays for the repose of the departed souls and wishes all injured persons a rapid and full recovery.”
