Vice President Shettima presides over NEC meeting

Vice President Kashim Shettima is now presiding over a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) in the State House in Abuja.

The current NEC meeting, the fourth since the Bola Tinubu administration took office, is attended by virtually all members.

The governors of the federation’s 36 states, as well as ministers in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Finance, as well as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), and others, comprise the council.

However, neither the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, nor his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, were present when the meeting began.

All governors are present at this month’s meeting, which is expected to be the last for 2023, with the exception of those from Akwa Ibom, Kano, Lagos, Enugu, Osun, Borno, Nasarawa, and Adamawa, who are represented by deputies.
